A plea to DuPont and PPG
After 20 plus years of painting cars as a hobby. Usually in the dusty dark depth of my garage. With only my trusty Harbor Frieght $39 gun which requires a rag rubber banded on the lid to keep it from leaking.
If I am going to shell out nearly $1,000 in material to paint my car, is it too much to ask to develop a paint that repels insects? Deep Woods Chroma Clear would be well worth the extra few dollars. No longer do I want to judge the quality of my paint job by how well I was able to remove the fly that dive bombed my last clear coat with a pair of needle nose pliers.
While we are at it, if they can make dust resistant funiture polish, why the heck can't you include that nifty little chemical in my paint. Again, I would be so willing to pay the extra few dollars to never again have to wet sand every single partical of dust out of my clear coat. AS it is I have to apply an extra 2 coats usually with a tint of color just to hide the dust. At the price of clear, the savings in paint would pay dividends.
I might be pushing it, but would Lemon Fresh sent be too much to ask. The garage I paint in is attached to my house. The fumes are enough to send my entire family into a fit of rage. After the first 24 hours there is enough brain damage that they enter a vegatative state and they calm down.
