AC Hoses

I am changing the AC system on my early 71 (ser. #1386) from Freon 12 to 134. I plan to replace all of the hoses on the car because they are original. The hoses up to the evaporator run through the passenger side rocker panel. I am running my new hoses the same way as original. Has anyone out there done this before and if so could you give me some advice and pointers? How much trouble is it pulling new hoses through the rocker panel? Since my car is completely restored (except for the AC) I don't really want to reroute the hoses through the center console. Thanks for any advice rendered.
