Acorn nut torque

Was starting to do some of the old backbreaking polishing of the engine parts and engine bay, and noticed a couple of these nuts I could turn by hand that connect the black plate to the trans. Anyone know the torque these should be...I am sure it is more than "finger tight". I suppose a nice reminder to all to check your nuts on occasion.

This is all I could find in the manual.
It only talks about the tension studs, you might want to call a shop and get there info.

You can go 175 in/lb or 15 ft/lb on the nuts threaded on studs and 147 in/lb or 12 ft/lb on the tension bolts with castellated nuts passing through the lower cover.

Thanks. Thats pretty low torque considering my wrench starts at 10ft/lb. So I just snuged them up a bit.

Aside from those nuts - I also check and tighten the 16 half shaft nuts / bolts inboard and outboard at least once or twice a season. They do get loose!

Hey David, Did you ever try loctite thread locker on the half shaft nuts and bolts?
It could be a good fix...
