I have a 71 Pantera with an AC system that has been converted to R134a. I have heard of guys installing a pressure switch on the high pressure side to shut of the compressor when the system pressure gets too high or when the pressure is low to protect the system and the compressor. Has anybody out there done this? If so what pressure switch did you use and where did you put it? Thanks.

I also run 134a with a Sandeen compressor..I put in a 250 psi switch on the high side, It cut the comp out before it got cold Frowner I removed the switch and the only thing that cuts my compressor off is the freeze switch in the evap. Make sure you have a moderen high efficincy dual pass cross flow condenser. I have a twin fan setup and I ride in comfort! If you use a high side switch ..make it 400 psi, and let it tell you if the pressure gets that high so you can do something before it blows.
