Hi guys. I need some help.
I had a GM true 1-wire alt that I replaced. It worked fine but I had an intermittant drain problem and thought I would replace it. I bought a GM 2 wire alternator and wired it per drawing but the motor ran on with the key off. So I took it in and had it modified to be a true 1 wire alt. I tied #2 alt tab to blue/blk wire that goes to gen light. It still runs on until I disconnect the blue/blk wire.

Will,

The white wire that connects the dash warning light is fed from the ignition switch terminal block by the steering column. It may be connected to the ignition (run) terminal instead of the accessory terminal. A quick fix would be to add a diode in series with the blue/black wire and the alternator's # 2 terminal.
