Good point, EH. A stock size pickup line all the way to the carb limits horsepower to about 400-450 continuous flywheel bhp, no matter how much potential is there. The stock OD is simply too small to flow enough fuel (with a carburetor. EFI with 8X the fuel pressure may give slightly more max BHP.) Note this is not 'momentary' horsepower as in passing, etc.
That's a 1/2 inch o.d. 3/8 i.d., I can not tell any difference when filling the tank. The sock is the first filer, then a before pump and after pump filters total of three, that's on -6 lines.but it could step up to -8, I have run this set up on my car for (and I can't remember exactly) for about 18 years.( I know I was still married to my first nightmare)
