Unbelieveable. It's 30 something degrees (4C for us Canucks) and it feels like 75F. The road salt was washed away with 2 days of rain and so I jumped in the car and headed out for what I always expect will be the last ride.
As I tighten the belts and head onto the expressway I realize that this is really great weather for the Pantera. Window open, but nice and warm inside. A balmy 175 degrees on the temp gauge and the car is just awesome. Purring along in Christmas Day light traffic she feels perfect. So nice and smooth as we cruise about 75 miles off the island of Montreal. I put my headlights on as I wind her up when the traffic opens, well aware of the limited grip on these cold dry roads. Most folks are as amazed as I am to see this car on the road in December - especially contrasted against the salt streaked, dirty winter film on most cars.
The usual suspects chase around and try to get me to race them in their 4 cyl beaters. I smile at them and as I find a little open road I drop down a gear and fly away.
This winter driving is a new experience and so much fun. What a great day.
And Merry Christmas to all!
