Another Mystery wire

There is a purple/black wire that goes to the Flasher switch, it could be this one

Not sure it's the same wire (purple or pink), but there are large and small pink wires that connect to the factory ignition switch terminal block. The small pink wire is tied to the large red wire.

The wire is a light purple

In the area in question, some of the cars had a violet (purple) wire that was unused.  It originated from fuse 8.  Somewhere in the wire loom there are two green wires (factory) spliced into the violet wire.  One green wire goes to the windshield wiper / washer switch, and the other green wire goes to the emergency flasher switch.

Fuse 8 is unswitched +12 volts.

Do you think the factory did such shoddy workmanship that when it was built they just rolled that extra wire up and threw some black tape on it?

No, the factory didn't wrap that black tape around the wire. 

I wrapped the end so it won't short on anything. Originally it was just rolled up and taped to all the other wires.

The only Violet (V) wires I've found in that area may be associated with the courtesy lamp switch per the attached SOBill wiring diagrams. Makes sense that the wire would have a female connector to plug into the back of the switch...or maybe not.

Like a map light? Did some cars have these? My Cuda does. HUMMMM

The dome light above the rear window. Turns on when you open the door or flip the switch that should be right below the window switches. Switch may say COURTESY.

That wire you show is too large a gauge to be courtesy lights.

This should be your mystery wire.

Interesting. If you follow that wire, it comes from Fuse #8 and is simply not connected to anything. Next time I'm poking around behind the dash, I'll have to see if I can find that same Violet wire tucked away somewhere.
