It was in Neutral when I took it apart. When Re Attached, Does it need to be in Neutral?

If you are talking about the shift linkage that attaches to the transmission then I have always aligned the shifter with the trans in neutral. From there you can make slight adjustments if required.
How do you Keep it in Neautral When you Connect the Linkage Buckle. When I tap the Univeral Joint on the Spline, It Pushes the Neutral out od Gear.
If it moves out of neutral into a gear then try to identify which gear it goes into. Then set the shift shaft to the splined shaft on the trans and the shifter should want to go to the gear position inside of the car. Once you tighten the shift shaft see if you can find neutral and the other gears. If not then keep playing with it until you get it right. Good luck.
