There are 1795 members on the DTBB site, I was just wondering how many of them are from Australia. I just get the feeling Im the only one around here and it's lonely...
Doug The car your talking about is Laslo's, he lives in Queensland Australia. I have spoken to Laslo a few times, he sounds like a nice guy, unfortunately he also live in another state which is nowhere near Sydney. Would be great if he was around locally. Dennis
But LPB, you hasve wild Emu's in the woods just like DU. You two have that in common. LPB, did you do the high speed event that you needed the roll bar for yet?
Hey, my Southern Hemisphere neighbour and friend! Come and live in sunny good old South Africa. - Here in Johanesburg close by, we have five major "International" race tracks. Track Time a plenty. Also we get away with a lot here regards regular 'policed' laws of the road. -I read in a newspaper in Sydney last year; a kid was fined and had his car legally confiscated doing a burn-out on his fathers, owned bussiness premises; a Sevice Station. The cops claimed since it was in public they could apply the rule of law. Here in S.A. the roads can be enjoyed to the fullest. Very low trafic density, no cops, excelent roads....but hey you guys have got the fabulous "Phillip Island" with Ford V8 sedans battle it out with Holdens (Chevy) and 120.000 in the stands... Awesome racing. Did u ever see and hear your very briliant motorbike designer John Britten & his very advanced, magnificent V-Twin racer that trashed the worlds best factory teams repeatedly ? I just recently competted in the famous David Piper "Legends" event here in Johanesburg along with Chevrons, Lola's, GT 40"s (real & Replica), Ferarri P4, Porsche 917 etc., - They come out here annually to run 2 events against the locals...a lot of fun & games.....its a bit 'run what ya brung,' but then being in this kind of illustrious company and passed by a howling '61 Ferarri 250 GTO makes up for it.......tai krige
Not to be a party pooper but I heard that traffic laws in South Africa were rigorously enforced. I was told that exceeding the limit was treated as a criminal offense with jail times as long as twenty years. That's not what I call driver friendly. I'd be serving concurrent life sentences.
Don't worry Doug we would both be sharing a cell with most of the people on the DTBB. It's not my fault, they just shouldn't have built such a beautiful and fast car. Actually it's Detomaso fault! That's my story anyway. Dennis
