Hi Charlie.
I bought it yesterday, so I haven't read it complete. I am sure, they were impressed about this car and the whole story.
During the photoshooting on a secondary road in the Alps, a car stopped, the driver came over and asked what they are doing there. It was Santiago De Tomaso and this was definitly not planned.
You can see him on one picture with Rene and Michael Ward.
Small world.

A worthwhile read and a very nice car to boot. Its some years that I did probability theory but I wonder what the odds were of them running into Santiago? Very strange indeed

I’m sure you already know there was another Vallelunga featured in the November Classic & Sports Car magazine as well, this was the one on display at this summers Goodwood FOS. I’m guessing the owner is familiar to these shores as well.

Si, I see there is a Guara for sale on Pistonheads for 75 thousand euro, looks familiar?
We have seen the white-blue striped Vallelunga at the FOS this year and we have seen the yellow one last year in Austria.
Both cars are in perfect restored condition and it is very hard to say, which car is the nicer one.
Yes, the Guara is for sale when the price is right. Now I own this car for more than three years and it would be nice to change to the next De Tomaso car.
Classic & Sportscar and Auto Italia were very positive about the Vallelunga's they road-tested. I think it's probably fair to say that both cars are now markedly better sorted than when they were new.

The white and blue car in the Nov '05 C&SC was chassis VL1606, a Fissore-bodied prototype. Rene Killer's car featured in Auto Italia Dec '05 is 807 DT 0126, a standard Ghia-bodied production version.
