We had a great trip, with a big mix of cars.

We started at 0700 at Tucson's "Cars and Coffee". Here's some pix of the Italian cars in attendance. It was fun, and a good starting point for our run up Mount Lemmon.....

At 0830 - our group pulled out. We had a varied mix of vehicles - Here's the listing....

  • Chuck & Linda - '73 Pantera L (AZ POCA)
  • Jack - '74 Pantera L (AZ POCA)
  • Jim & Jacki - '02 GTO (AZ POCA & Pantera Owner)
  • Andy & TJ - '09 Repsol (AZ POCA & Ex-Pantera Owners)
  • Drew & Mary - '99 Lambo Diablo (Ex-Pantera Owners/Ex-Prez Colorado Panteras)

  • Dave C - '72 Ferrari 365GTB/4
  • Steve S - '74 Alfa Romeo Spider
  • Rob B. - '12 500 Abarth
  • Pete S. - '64 Corvette
  • Ashley & Ben - '15 Mustang
  • Dave K - '00 Jeep - Italian Car Support Vehicle! (FIAT Club President)

We had a beautiful ride to the top - we stopped at Geology Vista Point for some pictures, and to kill some time. Unfortunately, we didn't get the cars positioned for a "complete photoshoot". Still - there were some good shots here.

We then went to the Mount Lemmon Ski Valley. Some of us stopped, and a few hardy souls drove all the way to the top for a couple of more pictures - just so we could say we did it.

Surprisingly - we had a great lunch, with good, attentive service at the Iron Door restaurant. Very fun, and very relaxing sitting on their deck in the shade.

Then that crazy Chuck had to suggest that we all drive "through town" and take the "scenic route". Unfortunately, two of the "super high performance cars" were a little low, and had trouble negotiating a dip in the road - these two had to reverse course.

For this gaffe - I apologize - this resulted in a little splitting up of our group.

Nevertheless, the way down was a reasonably fast cruise, and a very pleasant ride.

At the bottom of the mountain - the group again split. A few went to a U of Arizona event to see a racing car the students are building, and prepping for a race. I hope to be able to post up some pictures of this activity.

In the meantime - here's a slideshow of our ride up the hill, and of lunch. Hope you enjoy it.
