Further to the excellent commentary provided on this post, I was finally able to fire up #3528 yesterday ... and man was I reminded of how fun it is to drive these machines!
burn rubber

New gas tank, new fuel lines, carb rebuild, new plugs and 120 pounds lighter ... my cat roared to life (after 6 months in hibernation) and drove like a dream thru some nice twisty mountain roads and long prairie flats.

Now, I still plan to close off this thread soon ... but in the meantime I will be performing some final performance adjustments and tuning the carb before culling all my pix and thoughts.

The most important thing to note in all of this is that, prior to this project, I had never done much work on a car before. Oh yeah, I did all the simple things, but pulling a 351C powerplant and upgrading a lot of the engine bay components was something I never thought I would ever do. So it should be no surprise that I needed some help - and I got it from two stellar gentlemen that I met via this very forum.

Blake (MTN KAT) and Doug (INZOWHO), thank you both SO MUCH for your help with my project! applause There is absolutely no way I would have ever pulled this off if it wasn't for you guys. I can't wait to get out and drive again with you both this summer!

And so the season begins once again ...
