AFAIK, they are the same. Does yours have a nut on the INSIDE of the cover?
If so, is it a VERY THIN nut?
Is the cover threaded?
If the cover is NOT threaded, and you have a VERY THIN nut on the inside of the cover and it still prevents reverse gear engagement, then you will have to try a different approach.
Options:
1. If there is NOT a second thin nut on the outside, try adding a second thin nut on the outside (or shims).
2. Helicoil the bore in the ZF cover. Use a thin nut on the OUTSIDE as a jam nut.
3. Find a switch with slightly larger diameter threads and tap the bore in the cover to match the thread size of the new switch. Use a jam nut on the OUTSIDE of the cover.
Thanks. I think it's going to take a combination of things. I don't have the right nut, and I'll have to cut the plunger down some too. it starts to compress just as soon as it enters the hole.
It's the right switch, the ones the vendors carry. I thinned down a 10mm x 1 jam nut on a grinder wheel to about half as thick, then I used a belt sander to shorten the plunger by about half, and that was the trick. I have a backup light, and easy entry into reverse.

...Bravo! See...all One has to Do, is Try!
I have often reported, if You are having Great Difficulty in Shifting Into Reverse Gear; The Problem May be as Simple as, the Reverse Light Switch being Screwed IN Too Far!
