Bad brake light switch.

wellisMrs. Detomaso's nephew, and longchamp owner.

My pressure switch for the brake light has gone south. I am thinking about replacing it with a mechanical attached to the brake peddle, since it have not found a replacement. I thought it was a generic one, but the replacement is not the right threads.

Has anyone replaced theirs? Any thoughts.

William, The Mangusta replacement part was from an MG IIRC. So a Girling supplier source. Yours may be the same.

Oops I should have said it is for my Longchamp.
I do not think it is the same as the mangusta.

William, you had it in the Deauville/Longchamp section. Pull the old one see if any numbers on it.

I am the one on the left and that is Santiago on the right. Clearly I was trying to tell him something, but he was not listening (not a surprise) it was taken in Italy.

I replaced mine (1974 Longchamp) with a microswitch on the brake pedal many years ago. If you need a pic I could get under there and take one to post.

Mid-'80s Z-28s used a non-hydraulic brake light switch actuated off the brake linkage. Simple to make a bracket that fits from scrap aluminum. I've had hydraulic switches fail and leak fluid.
