Hello fellow Pantera owners. I am excited and a little nervous to say I am in the process of purchasing half the ownership of one of the local speed shops. This is the shop I always brought my car to for tuning and custom parts. The current owner/operator was in a bad partnership and was losing his drive to keep the business going. I consider this shop to be a bit of a diamond in the rough. It is a great place with a good atmosphere and loyal client base. I have been working there part time for the past few months in every bit of time that im not working at my "day job". Every day I spend there I have a great time. The owner and I get along great as we are close to the same age and have very similar personalities. The process started about 3 months ago and seems to finally be coming to fruition. Once the purchase is complete we will also be purchasing a new building that will be set up to handle anything thrown at us. I will post updates as things progress.

Great news, Blaine!

If you do what you love it will never feel like work and you can do it 24/7. Then, if you do that, chance are it will be a great success.

I'm sure you'll be looking for bigger things than the Pcar community, but maybe you can develop some small fuel cell system "to fit a very busy engine bay."

Then you can join us when the east coast owners come to BC next summer! Wink
Blaine,

I wish you every success, your car is an inspiration to others and I'm sure that carries through into your everyday work so you'll never be short of people chasing you for work.

Not to put a dampener on things, but one word of caution as I know of far too many people that entered into a business venture best of friends and ended up in court and worst enemies. Much like a marriage it may not seem you need protection or a pre-nuptual agreement at this point, but just make sure you have the legal side adequately covered.

Good luck,
Julian
Marcus, feel free to stop by for a hello anytime. Let us know when you want to switch to that injected IR setup Wink.

I couldnt agree more Julian. That is pretty much what happened with the current owner and his partner and it bit him good. We have a mutually trusted lawyer writing up a good partnership contract with all the bells and whistles. Believe me, my wife would never let me get into anything without all the bases covered.

Just thought I would update you guys. The business acquisition is complete and we are waiting on the contractors to finish the building. We are currently slated to take possession April 1st. The walls are up and things should start moving pretty quickly now. The new name will is 5252 Motorsports and we are currently working on a website to go with it at www.5252motorsports.com .

Its on Sean Hts. road just behind the gravel pit on Keating X rd. We are a bit closer to you now Marcus.

I think the shop looks a bit bigger than it is. We would be taking up the two bays by the arrow. It is 67'x 40' making an area of around 2600 sq/ft. We will be adding a second floor in the future. The shop will have 2 lifts, the dyno cell, and a light duty Fab shop as well.

At this point I am VERY excited about how things are working out. The general feeling I am getting around town is that people cant wait till we open. We have some fun events planned already for the year. One of our biggest goals is to have a unique shop with a fun place for people to hang out while staying out of our hair. Once they let us on site to start building out the inside I will start posting more pics.

I dont think we will have an online store in the website. At least not to begin with. We are going to have enough on our plate just getting the shop up and running.

Marlin, you hit the nail right on the head. Not too many people catch that reference. It gets a good reaction as people who know what it means think its pretty cool and people who dont will inevitably ask. It comes with a great slogan as well. "Where Torque and Horsepower meet."

Ha! Stand around and wait? I havent had a chance to do much of anything since March.... Looks like my next time to rest will be November 2-5 when we head to Vegas for SEMA! I would love to come Mark but I just have too much going on right now. I have already told David that you guys are more than welcome to call me names and such while you are enjoying the Rockies. Enjoy yourselves.
