Looks like the time has come again for the annual Birch Bay Pantera meet. There are usually between 10 and 14 cars here each year. There were 14 Panteras last year as well as a Porsche,Viper, and a Countach. It is a good time and I recommend anyone in the area to make an effort to stop in. Here is some info from an email from Mike Thomas.

Gary and Linda Herrig have agreed to be the group leaders for the Sunday
drive to Birch Bay.
Here is a recap of plans and directions for Sunday, Sept. 9.

For those of you going up Sunday morning from the Seattle area, we meet at
8 am at the SW corner of the Northgate Shopping Mall in Seattle. From there, we head North on I-5 at 8:45 am, make one stop at the Smokey PointRest Area between mile-posts 207 & 208, then arrive at Birch Bay State Park at about 10:45 am. The British Columbia owners come down to meet us there and attendance has ranged between 10 and 20 cars (last year, we had 14 Panteras, one Lamborghini Countach, and a Viper. The members staying over at the Silver Reef Casino will also be there at about 10:30. It is still being worked out whether we will do a burger BBQ like we did last year, so details on this or whether you need to bring your own lunch will be out soon Lunch, People's Choice Judging, copious bench racing and ogling of cars, and a recap of the year usually take us to around 3:00 pm and then the Puget Sound area die-hards go to McMenamins restaurant in Mill Creek (S. Everett) for dinner and great microbrews.

For a map to Northgate mall, go to www.mapquest.com and enter "100 NE Northgate Way, Seattle WA" as the address to find. We need a caravan leader for Sunday morning!!. If you plan go on Sunday and would like to take the lead, please let me know and I can let the crew know.
Birch Bay state park http://www.parks.wa.gov/alpha.asp is located 20 miles north of Bellingham, WA and 10 miles south of Blaine, WA near the Canadian border. Take exit #266 off of I-5. Go West on Grandview for 7 miles, then North (right) on Jackson for 1 mile, then turn West (left) onto Helweg into the park. Continue on park's main road past the guard shack, picnic area and down a slight hill until you cross a small bridge and come to a "T" in the road at the edge of Puget Sound. Turn North (right) at the "T" and our area is usually on the right across from the Sound. There may be a $5 parking fee.

For a map to McMenamins Restaurant, go to www.mapquest.com and enter "13300 Bothell - Everett Hwy, Mill Creek WA". From I-5, just south of Everett, take exit 186 and head East for about 1 mile on 128th St. SE. McMenamins is in the shopping Center on the right side of street just after 128th St. SE becomes 132nd St. SE and just before the Bothell Everett Hwy crosses the road.

Thanks!
Mike Thomas
