My turn signals sometimes work straight away, but more often not , My car only gets used once or twice a month. Last few trips it`s taken 40 mins of driving then, the signals work. The hazards work straight away. So am I looking at a connection issue at the steering wheel stork end ?

And found the answer to this problem, a local auto electrician has suggested to replace the flasher.
Have you installed replacement LED bulbs? The load they create is not enough to trigger an old style flasher unit, but they now make replacement units that are compatible with the low LED current draw

Hi Larry, I`ve only installed LED bulbs in the dash gauges, speedo and tach
I had issues with the hazard switch as central part to the flashing circutry resulting in sporadic non functional flasher. Did replace it and then opend the old hazard. Had severly corroded contacts..
(Hazard switch is a part used in BMW xx02 models)
matg Thanks I`ll check with hazard switch over the weekend.
Assuming it's not a mechanical issue with the steering wheel, you can try P-E's solid state flasher:

I like that you can choose a "tick" or a tone. At first I thought the tone was way too loud but with the car running, you can actually hear it.
Hi Everyone Matg you were on track, its not my flasher, I played around leaving the hazards on, then turning off and trying blinkers, the blinkers went straight away and stayed on, I checked under the dash, wiggled connections to hazards , thought about removing to clean contacts etc, but just kept testing on/off between hazards/blinkers all worked fine, I know where to look if it occurs again. new flasher not required YET !!
