Yes. They are improved a bit and need less work to get a balanced flow.
Dan Jones "flowed" them as part of his on going "engine dyno" project and found that they had four "good" ports and four that could use improvement.
I personally ran the Shelby script one with a Holley 4779 (750cfm double pumper) carb.
I actually liked the Edelbrock Torker combination better for power and response.
What I would actually like to see Blue Thunder do on this manifold is offer it with filled runners so it could be used on the aftermarket high port heads without epoxying up the bottom of the ports.
That would add quite a bit of throttle response improvement to the 4v set up.
AT Francis, who is Blue Thunder, only makes one run of these manifolds a year. He doesn't make many in that run. Maybe 100? It doesn't even fill the waiting list for them.
If you try this manifold and don't like it, you will have very little problem in reselling it.
I think personally they look the most appropriate for the engine with their huge runner bulges.
They are very pretty manifolds.
The price on that Shelby manifold is unrealistic. I sold three of them for $275 each.
The ones made for the Holley Dominator carbs have increased in value since Holley started offering the 750cfm Dominator carbs.
It doesn't make more power but it's the look people love.
I just posted this here since there have been a few "wanted" ads for them posted here. I know Jim. He's good people.
If "you" want one, here's your chance. As the old tv ad used to say, "buy it or watch it drive by"?
I have no dog in the hunt here. For all I know, it's already sold?
