With the recent unfortunate news of fellow forum member Gavin (aka FYRBRTHN), I would like to make you aware of a worthy fund raising event that my band Hand Painted Swinger is performing on 2-17-09 from 6-8pm at the Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg, MD to raise money for the Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers Race for Hope – Washington, DC scheduled on Sunday May 3, 2009. This Race for Hope - DC raises money for the Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure organization. The 2008 Race for Hope - DC raised $1,780,000 for the Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure organization and hopes are the 2009 race will raise over $2 million for brain cancer research.
Hand Painted Swinger is donating $3.00 (the band profits) from each CD sale from now until 2-17-09.
