Brake Booster Recommendations

What does Scott recommend?  Or are you asking where to buy a stock one?

I'm waiting on Scott to respond on his recommendation.  I wasn't sure if others are using a new stock version or something completely different.

you should search on this forum as Steve has had some rebuilt.  I am unaware that you can even buy a "new one".

Scott recommends the stock booster.  I will do another search and see what I find.

The stock booster is uncommonly small. I believe it is still available as a booster and master cylinder assembly for Ferrari. Do not believe it is available by itself through those sources.

I have read that the small size poses rebuilding issues for most rebuilders, but as previously mentioned in this thread, someone has successfully found a vendor for rebuilding these.

Dennis Quella says $550 for a new booster with exchange and similar price to rebuild.

I haven't found that mine is bad yet but if I'm spending $4K on replacing the brake system I may as well take care of the booster at the same time.

I will give ABS Power Brake a call as well.

ABS Power says about $275 to rebuild and anodize the unit.  About 1.5 week turn around.  Think I'm going to give them a try.

that is a bargain these days.   and new ones from a vendor will probably be "bad" like a lot of things.   Curious where Dennis is sourcing it from?

I asked his son Adam about clutch master cylinders the other day since that has also been a hot topic around here.   Adam said "we have the stock units" available.  Which means he is getting them from the same vendor whose units have been leaking.....

When ABS Power Brakes rebuilds a booster they blast and replate the housing in yellow CAD, it is not anodized.

The CAD looks good.  I guess the guy on the phone mis spoke on the anodizing.
