That's the way the car is. Even though it is Pushbutton #1280 it was finished and sold in 1972. It was Titled by DeTomaso and Italy as a 72. A dozen or more things on the car come from models latter then the Pushbuttons.

I had never seen the brake box tags like that though (which doesn't mean much) but was kind of curious.

I have #1272, also titled as a 1972 when sold new in Italy....

Does not have that tag on it....

My car came with a type 2 ZF...how about yours?

Cool Brian, welcome to the 1972 Pushbutton club!

I have some questions. Which decklid do you have? Door jam or rear trunk release? Mine has both. Is your rear deck latch early/ later?

Which uprights do you have? My 1905 has earlier one piece but 1280 has 2 piece.

How about the exhaust manifolds? Mine are gen 4 with webbing. According to the book I was looking at these were for one piece rear bumper cars which would have been rubber bumper cars?

Gary
Hi Gary,

These cars are very unique.....

#1272 has a flat decklid, door jam trunk release, Old style trunk release (same as front trunk)...

The battery is in the front trunk, but there is a battery mount in front of the right rear tire.

Bumpers are the rounder (late 71) chrome style.

Seats are 72 style.

Gauges are in Italian (Olio, benzina, Acqua, Ampere) Speedometer is in KM.

Has small front valance.

2 piece windshield molding

1 piece side window frames.

Type 2 ZF

Did not come with seat belts when new.

I'm not sure what you mean by "uprights"...

I don't know which headers the car had originally...Has Hall big Bore now.

Car was sold in Italy in June of 72.

Brian
I will deffinantly get out an measure mine.

The early Euro pushbuttons had a narrower front valance. I had owned this car for 14 years and never noticed the valance until I ordered a replacement from John Woods....Once I realized that it was a unique early Pantera feature, I decided against replacing it and had it repaired.
