brake/clutch linkage pin | The De Tomaso Forums

I have a 72 without the clutch effort reduction linkage. I found, on the drivers side floor, a pivot pin with only 1 of the retaining clips connected. I looked up under the dash to see where I am missing a pin, but I do not see anything missing. There is one in the clevis going to the clutch master cylinder, and one on the brake pedal connected to the brake master cylinder. I have driven the car, and everthing seems to work. (clutch and brakes) It's hard to see up in there. What am I missing?

Paul,

It sounds like you have accounted for the pins that your car requires. Perhaps it was one that a previous owner "lost", and it finally became "dislodged".???

Thanks for the diagram. You may be correct, that it was "lost", and now reappeared. It still has one of the original retaining clips. Still has me wondering where it came from since I have owned the car since 1985.
