The Mangusta brake pedal return spring has a tendency to break after about 30,000 miles. This can be disastrous depending on your situation at the time.
When braking you will hear a sharp snapping sound and the pedal will go down some. It will not come back up. You can pull it up with your toe.
To get to the spring remove the felt covered panel in the front luggage compartment that encloses the bottles for the clutch and brakes. That reveals the front of the brake booster and the return spring. My return spring was not a very professional application to say the least. I replaced it with a long bolt through the front of the aluminum link to the booster so that I could attach a new spring to it and a back-up spring in case it breaks.
The Pantera spring is longer and could be rigged for attachment to the Managusta with a spacer.
I suggest everyone check the spring as It could break at any time.
