I just posted this same question about a month ago and got no response. I went to my local parts supplier and looked thru a couple of books with no luck. So my guess is there is no direct replacement for the stock switch. Several posts here talk about adapting a mechanical switch to the brake pedal, but I really didn't want to go that route. I just ordered a new switch yesterday from Pantera Performance in Castle Rock, Co. for $40. Yes, some fluid will come out. Have a plug and some rags ready. I could not get a wrench on my switch to turn it without removing the master however. Thats okay. gave me a good reason to powder coat it! Is a '72 much different than my '74?
Man, what a nightmare this turned out to be! In the process of reassembling the master after I powdercoated it, I accidentally nicked one of the seals. Nobody, but nobody would help me find the correct seal. I called the supplier of the master (that "W" company)and they would gladly sell me a new master for $280 but would not help me one iota in finding the proper seal. Heck, they wouldnt even return my 2 phone calls! I twice emailed the manufacturer of the seal, an Anjee Seal Co. in Taiwan, but got no response.I found a Lincoln master which looked like it had the same internals, but after purchasing one, found it was slightly different. I called a tech line for the manufacturer of this master and asked where they got their seals and was told it was "proprietary information" I then called 3 different brake rebuilders who advertised in Hemmings, but was told "we dont sell individual seals" My last call before giving up was to Apple Hydraulics in New York. He sensed my utter frustration and offered to help. I sent him some pics and a diagram of the seal. He found 2 seals closely resembling my specs and sent them to me at a very reasonable price. It is now back together and even works better than previously!!! Lazar, my hat is off to you! Thank you once again!
