Bulkhead Cover Mod

This a fairly easy mod. If you're a member of POCA there was an article in their newsletter a few years back on how to do this, with pictures. "Bosswrench" was the author. I imagine you can get copies or I could send you my copy.

I did this mod. It is simple and easy to do. After all I did it with just 1.5 useful arms and it came out so well no one would know it wasn't an original design element. Bosswrench did a great job with the write-up and if you don't know the mod is there, you can't tell.
Highly recommended.

One downside is the earlier cars had a wider metal engine cover so it was not removable through opening once the rear bulkhead bubble was removed. I cut an access hole in my metal engine cover for access to the harmonic balancer for timing purposes.

Where did you relocate your alternator to? And did you use a kit for the alt relocation or did you fab your own solution?

Thanks to all for your input.

I fabed my own bracket by cutting up the A/C bracket. I'm in the process of reducing the bulkhead bubble. It's a great way to learn welding.

After that I'm debating whether to paint the car as I have found a spray booth to rent by the day.

Nice work on the mod. Looks like that took a bit of time getting the fit just right. Do you have a pic of the engine through the firewall? I'm curious about the difference between the 392W and the 351C.

Really nice job! One more project to add to the list.

I have to agree with Husker that having an access hole in the bulkhead for timming purposes makes things alot easier. Especially if you have a rollbar installed.
