When it rains...it pours. Just when I am ready to install a chassis rigidity set, my Bulkhead Reduction kit arrives from AmeriSport, (Or KRE Enterprises), or Kirk Evans.
You may remember I won the typical kit in Vegas this year. (Yea Baby !)
Kirk has made some improvements to the basic design/product and I waited for the new version, I may be one of the first to receive this.
I'm planning to install this after the chassis kit. Until then...you will have to wait to hear about it.
If you don't know what I am talking about, this product relocates the alternator to run as a slave to the A/C pump. The new alt location is "Down Low". Thus the HUGE hump in the firewall is almost removed, or at least substantially reduced !
Good thing too with my stock seats.
Anyway my package comes with a front engine cover that has a small hump, an upholstered firewall cover, an Alt. bracket
that relocates the alternator, and ...
Well I have yet to open the box so I don't know what else !
What I do already know is that Kirk knows how to box this stuff. There are several bolts and fender washers that go thru the cardboard to secure stuff inside, probably the center engine cover.
Good engineering !
Now this item won't make my car any faster, lighter, or handle better, but it is not just a "meant to look good" thing either. This makes the passenger a WHOLE lot more comfortable, you married guys know what I am talking about.
So stay tuned for my product review of this "Very Nice To Have" product.
Chuck
Note: I'm not getting anything from Kirk for my comments.
I'm doing this because I think people will want to hear about this product, and since he DID DONATE a valuable item to the Vegas Raffle, I think he deserves some publicity.
I would/will do the same for any other Vegas Raffle Donors, but I only won one prize, and I like to write from first hand knowledge. So... Donate to next year's Vegas Raffle....and get a product review in addition to all the other advertising & publicity !
