After a short ride yesterday I noticed a drip coming from the rear of my zf. I crawled under the car to see what the issue was and there is a small bump about the size of a pencil erasure with a crack in the middle of it. The drip is coming from there. I don't remember that being there before. There is nothing silver in the oil and the car shifts just fine. It goes into every gear. I put the car away immediately after I saw it. Any ideas? I am afraid to drive the car until I have some idea of what is going on.

No safety wiring of ring gear bolts.
Bolt comes loose, the bolt head shears off, and damages ZF case and or internals.

Do not drive pull trans and remove bottom cover to inspect before damage is done. The pencil hole and crack can be welded.

The hole is not in the area you haved pictured is it? Broken bolts usually damage the bottom cover of the ZF with the two cross bolts
You saw the small leak on my lower trans cover. When we opened it up, we found the remains of all ten ring gear bolts and safety wire at the magnet. One bolt head looked like it spent some time in the bottom of the case.

Two sheared bolt shafts held my ring gear in place!!!

While your crack is at the tail of the gearbox, I suggest you don't drive ANYWHERE.
