Just passing on what was sent to me, sure to fire up some debate!

Rumor has it that California may soon declare bankruptcy. Hmmmmmmmm?? Wonder why !

Just One State

This is only one State...............If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will ! ?

From the L. A. Times

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County )

(All 10 of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. ?29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue

Very sad. And this is just a tip of the national problem. Gang related crimes here in Atlanta are almost exclusively by illegals.

Come to the US as a “LEGAL” immigrant and all my best wishes to you.

Come here illegally should = NO state /federal benefits or money.

Come here illegally and are arrested should = mandatory deportation.

US employers hiring illegals should = large fines (10k +) and or mandatory 2+ years in prison.

At the rate CA is moving with its policies toward illegal immigrant, I would guess that the Southwest will just be an extension of Baja Mexico, Tijuana can be your new capitol!

It really is sad that the local government basically invites illegal immigrants to the U.S. with its policies towarding handing out aid and welfare. Basically you just need to pop out a little niño and bingo you can start collecting checks.

Mexicos drug problem needs to be irradicated to create stability and infrastructure. Stop the depressed economy there by ending the illegal drug trade in the U.S. So many people are pumped up on legal and illegal drugs nowadays, its sad. How much of this is quality of life enhancement and how much is simply substance abuse. Life is too short to waste away on drugs. [end of rant]

That's the federal government's policies, not local government. Its the federal government that sets the policies regarding US citizenship. A former governor of California, Pete Wilson, was a leader amongst the governors in attemting to get the federal government to close up the border, but the Clinton administration did nothing.

The businesses that offer jobs to illegal immigrants are just as culpable as the federal government. If there were no jobs, the immmigrants wouldn't flock here. You can't blame the immigrants for wanting to improve the lives of their families. They are just pawns in a bigger game.

I think that this is happening throughout the U.S. in some degree or another. Though the Mexicans seem to by the dominant, stereotyped race, there are other races contributing also to this problem. While there are some who are genuinly trying to better their lives, there are many that are abusing the system and conducting illegal activities. In Hawaii, we had a fairly large influx of migrant agriculture workers. Some of these ended up opening their own businesses which ended up being drug fronts which were later taken down by Federal investigations. We also have a lot of Asian and Pacific Islander organized crime factions here which are heavily involved in gambling and drug trades.

My take on this is that if they are illegally here, they shouldn't qualify for any type of aid. Face it, they are here ILLEGALLY. I don't believe that American citizens should be tasked with the burden of supporting these people when it is already difficult to support their own families.
Immigration legal or illegal is a topic close to heart and a frustrating one for me personally as I'm here as a migrant worker. Let me put it from an outsiders persepctive; the Governemnt of this country are happy to have me here on the basis that no American can offer the same level of expertise in my field. I have worked in the US for 7 years so far and yet come 2011 I will get kicked out. No handbacks for all my tax and medicare contibutions, in fact the irony is I no longer qualify for UK benefits as I haven't paid taxes there in 11 years. There is no mechanism to get a green card unless my company sponsor such, so you see even for an educated person who has contributed to this country the immigration policies are set to encourage 'illegal' immigration.

At the end of the day you have to look within to resolve the problem, you cannot blame the people outside the borders wanting in, nor can you ignore the hypocracy within. When the economy was booming everyone turned a blind eye to illegals 'filling a need', now the economy is the sh*ts it's a different story.

Don't get me wrong I'm not advocating illegal immigration and I believe unless it is tackled head on very soon it will be the undoing of this country. In fact it may already be too late as white caucasions breed at a much lower rate, so inevitably we will be out numbered even by internal growth. But hey the illegals are for the most part of racial groups that vote democrat, so no way is the government going to p*ss off a large proportion of it's voter base.

Like they say "I'll keep my Guns, Freedom and Money...you can keep The Change"

It's not just a U.S. problem, it's now predicted that France will be an islamic state within 25 years.

It is the same story with the drug problem, it is not Mexico's problem it is the U.S.'s problem... becuase it's a simple supply and demand scenario, until you tackle the underlying issues, i.e. the demand there will always be someone there to fill the need. At the moment it is Mexico, previously it was Colombia and Afghanistan. So it's just changing demographics not tackling the root cause - demand, which is a home grown problem.

Vent Over.....

George, you are right about the fed's responsibility; but you are wrong about the culpability of local government. When the locals/states hand out driver licenses like candy, don't pursue immigration proceedings against capital crime suspects/convictions, allow school enrollments for illegals (feds are in this one via court decisions), allow license plate registrations for illegals, don't take strong stands against unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured motorists in state and municipal courts, allow "day worker" solicitation and pick up sites to proliferate despite traffic tie ups, refuse to allow local police to follow up on immigration status, etc., etc. These are local issues. Sanctuary Cities are not an urban myth; Denver is one of the worst, but she is not alone.
If the local jurisdictions didn't look the other way on immigrations issues, the fed's would enjoy the spotlight all by themselves.

I'm not saying its right to hire the illegal Mexicans and lets not assume they are all illegal ...

But a simple observation has been in the Suburbs of New York ... growing up I pumped gas after school, and my brother work in Mcdonalds locally .. my father would not let us sit home after school .. as the generations went on the Latin People took these jobs .. why because the owners of the businesses couldnt get the local Kids to work .. who ever filled out the applications he hired. I also observed during the same time an abundance of brand new cars in the high school parking lot.

Simple observation the Parents didnt force the kids to get jobs and earn a few bucks and gain some simple core values of earning a dollar ... but rather them sit home on the computer .. pretending to be studying and when the parents got tired of carting there sorry ass around they would buy them a car ..oh no not a old Mustang for 500.00 a brand new leased Toyota.
( Which leads to another subject .. buy American because the next job lost might be your own.)

So here we are the supply and demand theory we blame the Hard Imigrant Working people who made this country great just looking for a better life. But no one says anything about the 51st Commonwealth state ..where the inhabitants ALL come to the USA get welfare, unemployment, workmans comp etc .. but this state doesnt pay one penny in taxes to the USA ..but the get every benefit.

The real BS of it all is the fact that we state all our ancestors came here LEGALLY. Usually one male adult and a child entered to meet the entended family legally .. then the rest would follow .. because as long as the Man was legal .. what was the difference if the wife and children were ?

The truth is Not All Latin American Workers are Illegal .. maybe the majority in the south west are because your close to Latin America. But in the NE we have our share but the majority have green cards or temp work cards.

Joules has a very valid point .. I think you could easily get a company to sponsor you .. if you wanted to stay ?

Let be honest .. I speak for the North East USA .. these workers fill a void of jobs, cleaning houses, landscaping, fast food, Laborers .. all of which pay max 10.00 per hours .. who would fill this need if they were not there ? Take a look around at the younger generation ... are they filling these jobs .. are we as parents are we setting the core values in our children that they need to pay their dues and start at the bottom and do the dirty work ?

I think we lost the Old Fashion Values in the USA and need to get back to basics.

That's aweful. Hopefully they at least serve in the military.

If so, how many have died (or been maimed) serving in WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, etc..?

Perhaps one or two?
