I was lucky to meet real nice group of North Cal Pantera owners last week. Thanx Rob for the hospitality.
Now I was sitting in the car home with Mike Drew, who was friendly enough to spent his day with me ( and drive 400 miles for it )When I heard that the engines of his Pantera and Cobra both had fatal failures. I figured out that he is to modest to ask for help. Well I am not. Are there any guys who will help him to pull his engines and put them on pallets?
Would be nice, so he can continiue his parcel express.

Modest and shy, is this the same Mike Drew I know? Big Grin

He knows that I will usually drive over from Reno and help out, as long as it's a weekend as I have a much more rigorous schedule than he!

I have heard rumblings of an engine pull session for some time, but no notification.

Thanks guys!

Yes, it's true--I took the 427 Cobra out for a midnight drive with Lori last week, and apparently spun a bearing. Methinks the dipstick (an odd aftermarket affair) is lying, because it still shows the engine full of oil, but I have a sneaking suspicion (now) that it's quite low.

Thanks for the offer of help, but the true reason things have been sitting is a lack of time. Between working on other people's cars, flying, working, taking Pantera-related vacations all over the place, screwing magazines and newsletters together, and shipping parts to Pantera dudes all over the world, there just hasn't been time to devote to my own projects. I'm not complaining one bit--I'm the one who is setting the time priorities here. And my own cars are the lowest priority.

Since I've had all the necessary parts for months, I do have faint ambitions of pulling the Pantera motor in January, running it up to Garry Choate's house and rebuilding it, then slotting it back into the car. I may put out a call for help once I get a better idea what my January schedule looks like.

Thanks Arno for the kind words (and, it was only about 200 miles of driving, not 400!), and if you let me know the next time you're going to have a three-day layover at SFO, maybe I'll draft YOU to help pull my engine! Big Grin
HAHAHA!!! Actually, Lori is the one that has been pushing me to get going on my Pantera, instead of working on her Pantera, her track Miata, etc. etc. I just keep procrastinating, that's all.

Soon it will be running! Although, my GT-350 is coming home in a couple of weeks, after being in pieces for six years, so that could prove to be a bit of a distraction... Roll Eyes

Hmm, it's difficult to say no to an offer like that! Let me check my work schedule--I think I'm leaving for Afghanistan again on the 29th, but there's plenty of room to squeeze in a motor-pulling session there! Watch your e-mail...and THANKS! party
