I am just about to undertake a refurbishment of all four of my GT5 Campagnolo Magnesium alloy wheels, here in the UK.

 - What is the correct Pantone for the wheels silver colour?

 - Is the black Campagnolo decal on the inside of the wheel dish correct? Is there a known position that these were attached?

 - Were the Campagnolo decals, if original, lacquered over, or applied after laquer?

 - Was there ever a gold paint option, if so, what was the Pantone for this, as I am considering a gold finish to complement my dark blue paint.

Thanks a lot, Tom

The early wheels were Argent silver, I must admit I have not verified whether  that was also used on the GT5 wheels, but suspect so. There were most certainly gold and white color wheel options on the GT5's.

Your wheels look in great condition to be refurbishing, there is a detailed and involved process that needs to be followed to refurbish magnesium wheels.

Many thanks, yes, the fronts are okay, but I have managed to curb the rears over the years. I am fitting four new tyres, so seems to make sense to have them refurbished, but yes, have heard its a tricky job, but going to send them to a Magnesium Wheel specialist.

I am sure I am being a bit picky about the right colour, but given the costs involved, I would rather get it right first time.

Hopefully someone with a GT5 or GT5 S will come along to my rescue!!

Thanks, Tom
