PS to KATS: The tires were a set of Goodyear slicks that were about toast. When the tire shop pulled them off the wheels for shipping I just had them throw them away.

Hey Guys:

Hopefully my wheels' new owner will have an easy a time finding good tires.

I definitely didn't want to sell the wheels but their value is about the same as four sets of Bassetts... And now that I'm getting ready to start running my car in VARA events I'm forced to use Hoosiers that cost about $1K per set. Yikes. And never mind the new fuel cell or the new MSD ignition (VARA won't allow my old crank-fired setup) or the new harness mounts or...

The money isn't going anywhere. It already went.

It's a shame tire manufacturers have given up on the 15 inch tires.

I'm just glad I don't have a vintage Corvette or some other car that holds dear its original specs. Panteras, being the bastard children they are, don't suffer from owners' modernization and modification efforts. So an update to big rims is considered a plus.
