Hi there.
I'm changing my A/C switch. The old capillary tube was inserted approx 10" into the "air box". I've of course pulled that out, and was then trying to insert the capillary tube of the new switch, but it can only go in 2½", then it stops. I assume there's a hole in there I can't find? Any advice? Can the "air box" be dismantled or removed easily? It looks like a big deal...
I guess 2½" would still give it the temperature reading?

I have a working system.. the tube is a freeze switch. I just put mine close to the EVAPORATOR fins. I would avoid OK look here is a pic of my new hoses.. Please don't look at the wires..

Do this.... put a thermostatic switch "AT" the evaporater.. adjust it to 32degrees at sea level. USE this signal to turn ON or OFF the compressor. Where I live and drive my car... I have to have AC.. I don't know all but my stuff works..
