carpet wear @ clutch pedal location

Have the same problems with the PI floormats I bought last year. For the money I'm very disappointed in the way that they have already wore out in the clutch & gas pedal area.

Options abound.
Since you are redoing the carpet you can have the shop make matching floor mats of the same material. They can cut to work around your seats and floor pan and pipe the ends to look professional. One could also do what new cars have and stich in a plastic patch in the area of high wear.

My shop used a fuzzy style carpet on the underside of the pads and glued then stiched the two together. The fuzzy carpet acts like velcro and helps the pad stay.

I'm being facetious, but I normally drive in my socks, shoes off. No carpet wear problem here!
