OK, I figured out the problem of no charging. One of the wires in the regulator harness had worked its way loose from the connector and the spade connector wasn't engaging the regulator. The alternator is now charging. I now have a new problem, when I turn the ignition off, the engine continues to run for a while before finally dying out. I am running the stock ignition and the cooling fans are not on at the time. I never had this problem before Any ideas?

P.S. No wiring or any other changes were made, only the regulator was replaced. The system is a
3 wire with external regulator.
