After the divorce with Ford, De Tomaso started with a new chassis in 1976. They wear chassis number 9000 on and were made by Maggiora. These series had some quality problems, so they started again in 1978 with chassis number 9100 on. All these chassis from 9100 on to the latest Si with chassis number 9641 were made by Carozzeria EMBO and were made of good quality.

Hani -
I'm in Europe as well, and I order my parts either directly from DeTomaso (actually, I *used* to order my parts directly from DeTomaso... with the factory now being in liquidation I don't think anyone knows what will happen) or from one of the US vendors. They will all ship overseas. What kind of parts are you looking for? (ie Engine (Ford) parts or body (DeTomaso) parts?)

Roland Jaekel in Germany has a large supply of DeTomaso parts as well.

Unfortunately, you have discovered a real "can of worms" in that serial numbers used after 1979 were chaotic at best. There are nearly consecutive serial numbers with diferent years of maufacture in our current Registry. To compound the problem, some owners are secretive about their cars, some are unaware of the advantages of having their car's info listed and some are simply not interested. All this contributes to a poorly documented record. And of course, now that the remains of the factory and its records are to be sold next month, all hope of ever straightening all the mysteries out will be gone. Sorry....
