hello Jack, I need to replace my clutch of My GT5 cleveland engine and I am appreciate your help to source a new clutch kit. I though of 'Centre Force' dual friction kit. But do not know which model to purchase (10.5" or 11")Because I was told if I bought the wrong model I will have to replace the flywheel. Also which vendo carry this brand. thank you very much for your time.

Correct; the 10-1/2" Mustang clutch cover will work on the 351-C but the bolt pattern is wrong. So you either have your stock flywheel redrilled for the smaller pattern in addition to the stock one, or buy a Mustang flywheel. The balence factor is identical in all Ford flywheels (withing factory specs, anyway) so they are all bolt-ins, given the number of ring-gear teeth are the same (two choices here). Supposedly, Centerforce sells a 'Pantera-specific' dual-friction clutch p/n DF021048-S that bolts onto our stock flywheels, but I haven't seen one so call them first & verify this. This p/n is NOT in their current catalogue (the 'S' is missing).
The Centerforce web site (www.Centerforce.com) lists DF132057S as a 71 Pantera specific clutch set. It is described as a 10.4 inch clutch for a 1 1/8 - 10 input shaft.

I called Centerforce, and they claim you need the Pantera specific clutch and flywheel, but didn't want to say why.

There is a different clutch for the -2 ZF, and the part number is DF 021057S, and requires their flywheel PN 700250-48.

Mcleod clutches (www.mcleodind.com) also offers a Panter clutch. Mcleod has a tech support line, but they only answer between 10:00 and 12:00 and between 1:00 and 3:00.

Seems like some people like Centerforce, and other like Mcleod, probably based on their individual experience.

Does anyone know why you just can't buy a Mustang clutch???
