Anyone know how to take out this clutch shaft from inside the gearbox bellhousing? It looks like the 2 split pins need to come of the lever part, but they seem bottomed out, so I can't punch them through....and I can't get to the other side....

The cross shaft holes are drilled all the way through. Other than 50 years of dirt, grime and rust there is nothing that would prevent you from pounding them out the backside,

I was never able to get mine off, but didn’t want to do a lot of hammering…..
Maybe I need to take another look next time I’m in there!
Some clutch cross-shafts had needle bearings while others had bronze bushings in their bell housings. And not a word in any factory manual about greasing either type. Pushbuttons & Mangustas had a smaller OD, shorter cross shaft and forks to match with a narrower bell housing w/two ventilation holes. So be careful when buying spare parts from E-Bay or the Web.
Larry is correct, a proper punch and some muscle will get the job done. I've rebuilt many ZFs and often found the needle bearings on the cross shafts were rusted away. The venders have replacements. I would buy three of the outer seal used on the needle bearing on the slave cylinder side. On reassembly, I placed the two additional seals on the inside of both needle bearings protect from disc dust, moisture and debris inside the bellhousing. I greased the needle bearings liberally.
I wonder if the stiction from the state of these needle bearings is causing some of the pedal sticking problems people are posting...
