Clutch Slave

Ok, so I knew it was leaking...Thankfully it was ok for my hour or so drive home. Taking my kid for a ride the pedal went to the floor. Filling and bleeding got me home. It simply isn't holding pressure. No leaks in the boot.
So, I'm going to call and order a long-throw on Monday. Probably will order the fancy bracket as well. What else? My *red tube* is really hard, I was thinking of replaceing it. Doesn't someone have a ready to go braided line?
Also, is there anything special to replacing it? Looks like it bolts up easy enough, but I'm not sure how to adjust.

Order the braided line to the slave when you order the other part you need. The vendor will have it.

I take it your replacing the master. I would replace the slave as well if it's the original.

You have my # I believe, call me if you want and I'll walk you through the installation & adjustments.

Actually, I was just going to replace the slave. I can't see any fluid being lost at the master. I should probably replace both as they're both original, but I think I'll try the slave first.

If you're filling and no leaks at the boot of the slave where else would the fluid be leaking out? Check for leaks on the master under the dash and I would also replace the master.

If you losing fluid, it's leaking somewhere.

If you were losing presure and not losing fluid, then it's the seal inside the master on the plunger rod.

Check your O rings inside the slave as well.

If both are original parts, your better off replacing them anyway.

Its so hard to type this stuff. When I started out, the master was low. When it would no longer work, the master was empty. When I did a quickie bleed/fill to limp home, I was able to get pressure to drive, just still had air in the system, so it was dicey.
I do think the slave is leaking. The mechanic noticed it looked rough, said he could see signs of moisture, etc..
I know that you are correct that both should be replaced at this point.

Pops,
If there is no evidence of leaking at the slave, it may be leaking from the master into your front trunck. You might want to see if the carpet in the front trunck is soaked with brake fluid. Been there, done that more than once.
