Guys,

Just a quick one regarding whether I need a 'long throw' type slave cylinder to go with a centerforce clutch? Currently, my car has its engine out and the mechanics have said the slave cylinder requires replacement, but having looked at it it is chrome plated (non standard) and may be the normal slave cylinder. Having just about ordered one from Roland jakel in Germany, he has said to make sure if I have a centre force clutch, then I need the smaller bore piston / long throw stainless steel slave cylinder or there will be operational issues going forward.

can anyone confirm if you should indeed fit the long throw version and where is the best place to get one (Roland can get one but it is about 260 Euro's)!

Thanks, Adrian

Hi Adrian

I used a centreforce clutch on my previous GT5 for years with the stock slave without any issues.

I have bought another centreforce for my new GT4 currently being finished off after restoration and I have no plans to change the stock slave.

Unless they have changed the design or the throw on newer centreforce clutches I don't see any problems.
Thanks guys,

I have had a mix or responses, all have really stated that it made no difference with the Centerforce clutch. The issue was that without full disengagement, there could be damage to the synchro's in the ZF. As mine was gone through by the famous Mr Roy Butfoy, I did not want to damage it.

I will however give Pantera east a call and see what the cost would be anyway and buy a suitable replacement.

Thanks Horace, I was actually wondering if this was an issue with the later cars - obviously not!

Thanks again

Adrian
