When I took the intake manifold off last week in order to send it off to be re jet hot coated I didn't notice anything unusual. Today, I was out by the car and there was maybe a half ounce of bright green engine coolant sitting on top of the block, in the corners next to the heads toward the front of the motor. I have not done anything on the coolant system and can't figure out where it came from. I still have to drain the oil but I don't see anything unusual on the dipstick. What gives?

thanks

Sometimes the two threaded holes (one is 3/8-16 and the other 5/16-18) in the front of the head pierce the coolant circuit. It's not uncommon due to a little core shift in the water jacket core. If so it may just be a little temperature induced expansion of your coolant back through these holes. You may want to add a little sealant to these screws when you reinstall your intake or you may end up with a coolant leak throught the screws.
