Dash Conversion Question

I have a 72-Pre L # 3178 I started restoring last November and now considering changing over the 2 pod dash, gage, & center console to a later model (73/74) can anyone tell me the true pros & cons on this change. What types of modifications are needed? I do want to stay with leather not CF. I’ve been told by a few vendors that it easy, “no big deal”. But something telling me there’s more to it then they are letting on too! Dave B sent me his drawings on his gage panel & arm rest mod’s that is great (I love the look) and would like to incorporate it into the conversion.
I just want to know what I’m getting into before I get started!
