Will be interesting to see where a Switzerland based owner of DeTomaso will manufacture their cars...Mark

It will be interesting? The DeTomaso name has been sold what 2-3 or more times in the last 10 years? One buyer built a Sedan? It kinda looked like a Potato, not sure if it ever ran? So here they go again, lets hope for the best!

According to the report the cars will be built at a new production facility near Turin, Italy.
Ford Revitilized their association with being a builder of Super Cars with the Ford GT.

I'd like to see a "Modern" version of the DeTomaso Pantera & Mangusta.

I'd vote for either the new flat plane crankshaft V8 or the same Super Charged powerplant as the Ford GT mated to a 6 speed ZF transmission, 6 piston calipers, ceramic brakes, NO Nanny assists...LOWERED to the ground and hydraulic lift in the front end for getting over speed bumps.

NOTHING ditial!!!...Just a PURE DRIVER'S car, I'd even like roll up windows & NO Pop-Up headlamps.

I think a recessed rear spoiler that electrically raises/lifts as speed increases & side ducting for brake cooling.

I'd be DANGEROUS if I could use a design program!!!...Mark

Has anyone got any photos of the Modena factory in it's heyday? Something a little more cheery? There's some b&ws of the Pantera assembly lines we've all seen, but those aren't from the Modena facility are they?

The b&w photos taken during the Ford years were taken at the Vignale coach works in Turin (uni-bodies being assembled, painted, etc) or the Ford assembly plant in Modena (the U-shaped assembly line where engines & suspension were installed). There are also various pictures taken at De Tomaso's two assembly plants, the first one at Via Peri, which is where De Tomaso operated during the Mangusta years, and during the early Ford years. De Tomaso sold their holdings in De Tomaso Incorporated to Ford circa the second half of 1972, and moved to the final facility in 1973 at Via Emilia Ovest, 1250.

This is VERY positive news for the brand!
When Ferrari bought Maserati, that brand went way up in value. The F1 theme and sport car in the making is very exciting!
