Received this on the SCPOCA mail list:

POCA Presidents and Board of Directors,

You may or may not have noticed that the Detomaso List server has been off
line since this afternoon sometime (Monday, Feb. 12). I just got off the
phone with Andy Poling who filled me in on the problem and its resolution.

Apparently the internal hard drive for the Detomaso List's dedicated server
suffered a total failure (head crash). The repair will not be easy or
quick, as after the drive has been physically replaced and started, all of
the List software and Archives will have to be reinstalled and then
configured from scratch. The Detomaso archives were stored on the same
crashed hard drive - but luckily in a different partition from the system
software that got nuked. Fortunately, Andy thinks (though isn't completely
positive) that the Archives are probably recoverable. The process of
replacing the disk drive, reloading the List software and Archives,
configuring, and then restarting the List will take three or four days at a
minimum. It could take as long as a week. The Detomaso List will be
completely inoperative during that time.

Could you please pass this information along to your POCA chapter members?
I will be out of pocket (traveling internationally) for the next several
days and in my absence John Taphorn will be following the repairs. Also, I
will send you a notification email when the List is back in operation.

Dave Bell
