I know they are out there but....I've virtually exhausted all the resources I could find learning about the marque. How come there arent any DVDs or more books chronicling DeTomaso like there are Ferrari and Lamborghini?? "DeTomaso the man and the machines" is and incredible read. Are our favorite cars that obscure??? There has to be enough info and passionate people out there to contribute to such an effort no?? I'd be willing to shell out afew bucks to pre-order something like this. I know as long we are enthusiastic about the marque we are historians in our own right but why should the other guys have all the fun???
Feeling pretty philosophical lately, been pretty deep in searching for a Mangusta or a GT5s as of late and my head is spinning

HD,

Besides "DeTomaso the Man and the Machines", there are several other titles currently available, and several old titles available used if you hunt for them:

Available New

Brookland Books, Pantera Ultimate Portfolio
DeTomaso Macchine da Corsa by Philippe Olczyk
DeTomaso Pantera by David & Linda Adler and Wallace Wyss

Available Used

Illustrated Pantera Buyer's Guide by De la Rive Box and Stone
DeTomaso Pantera by Jan P Norbye
DeTomaso Automobiles by Wallace A Wyss
Panteras for the Road by Henry Rasmussen

The new books are all available in the club store, the only used book that is very hard to find is the book authored by Norbye (it is the most inaccurate Pantera book, but there's some good pictures).

Issue 129 which I am working on this very minute will also knock your socks off, I apologize I'm so slow.

I shall produce a book someday, but I must get this magazine thing down first!

My kids are always getting me borthday and Christmas presents off ebay of old Pantera books andmagazine articles and such. I have gotten an issue of PI magazine from 1984, which is kinda cool. I have Gary Halls fist catalog. I have his video tapes. All kinds of cool stuff like that on ebay.
Regarding a Pantera video:
I would be happy to produce a quality historical dvd about the Pantera. I would have to rely on 'quality' video clips from members as I have a limited quantity myself.
I have full editing and publishing capability and currently produce TV segments for broadcast.

If anyone is interested, I will take on the pleasure of making the dvd and will credit any suppliers of clips.

Let me know.

Glenn
That's a start, Detom!
Do you have the original tape? Do you know the format?
I can use all the tape I can get because typically the finished and editted piece is about 10 - 20% of the raw footage.
If we can gather enough footage a good finished dvd can come out of it.

I'd like to include original promotional clips and take it from introduction to current era.
Great video & beautiful car DT. After watching it I even wanted a RIDE! Big Grin Have you noticed that one of the things the kids seem to love about the car is that they can get a good look at the inside without having to have dad lift them up off the ground - its just the right height for them.

Yeah I have the tape and the DVD. I had to edit (shorten) it just to get it small enough to upload to a web site. I think it is like a couple of giggabits or something.

Kids love it because they think they are riding in the batmobile. Big Grin
