Have you considered working with Chuck Melton and/or Ben Tyer on this? Maybe there are other factors I don't realize, but it seems that those guys are in possession of a LOT of this information already. Heck, add Dana Hansen and you'll have info on most Mangustas out there. Others could probably add info for the Longchamp, Deauville, Guara and specials.

Perhaps the entire DeTomaso community would be best served by a complete printed registry with "enhanced" listings available at a slight premium over the book purchase price/cost. That way more cars can be listed than the relative few that will pony up for a paid listing, and yet those that do see the value in paying will still do so AND get more value to boot.

I see a great opportunity to make something much more valuable than a picture-book showcase of a handful of cars. Unfortunately, these efforts usually fail because people rarely wish to open up their hard-acquired knowledge and data to share freely and completely. The DeTomaso community as a whole could certainly use a proper registry with complete and consistent information. If all those who have been gathering this information worked together the results would be really impressive. Perhaps now that the DeTomaso brand is being resurrected, some resources from Gian Mario Rossignolo could be obtained to help underwrite the effort. I'm not saying this would be easy to pull off, but great results rarely are.
