In the hard fought Competition category the Robert Hartley / Adrian Tribe De Tomaso Pantera is just 4.7 seconds ahead of Nick and Harry Whales' Porsche 911, while the Lotus Elan of Michael Schryver and Simon Hadfield trails by a further 32.1 seconds.
The lead in the Tour Britannia Regularity category was extended from 0.1 second to 0.4 seconds during the day by Bob and Anne Linwood's Citroen SM in spite of Brad and Barry Mottier's efforts to get ahead of them in their Datsun 240Z. John Ruston and Jeremy Haylock retain third in their Porsche.
The day's first race, at Rockingham, produced an epic dice between the De Tomaso and the Elan, the Italian machine winning by 1.1 seconds with the Whale Porsche third and John Sheldon's Elan fourth. Whale's Porsche and Kilty's Escort were the quickest of the leaders over the two Belvoir stages, with the category leading De Tomaso losing time over the narrow course. The balance was redressed in the De Tomaso's favour at Cadwell Park, however, with a winning margin of 2.4 seconds over the Elan and 2.6 seconds over the Porsche.
