DIS Question

Hi,

When we installed the Electromotive Tech II on my car I used a crank fired module. We just removed the top portion of the old distributor.

We did use a sensor mounted in the distributor but had problems with it so we went crank fired instead.

I did have problems getting the Tech II to work properly so I removed it and went to the MSD and back to a carb.

Did you bring the distributor to a machine shop, or did you simply hack saw it off? How did you cap off the top of the shaft in terms of the stationary part (housing) and rotating part (shaft)? Was a bearing necessary at the top of the shaft? Thanks.

Cyboman, if you would rather just buy something that does the same thing, I have an MSD Oil Plug that I would sell for $115 bucks (including shipping within the USA). It is a very nice piece, but I think it will stick out too far. The area of the distributor is going to be occupied by something else, so I need the distributor body to be as fluch to the block as possible. Great suggestion, though.
