As many of you know there is a second door push button switch connected to the key in the ignition warning buzzer circuit on the Pantera.

This is a plastic push button switch with a black cover below the courtesy light switch. Once this goes bad the buzzer stays on when the key is in  the ignition even when the engine is running . This will drive you slowly mental.  Then someone usually pulls the buzzer relay to shut it up, and the key warning function is lost forever, and the defective switch stays in its slot,  waiting for  its next victim.

The door switches are relatively expensive at our normal sources. I have priced them at more than US $50 plus postage.

After casting around I found the 1965-1968 dome light switch ( part no here in AU was C5AZ-13713) for the Mustang is almost exactly the same switch and they retail for less than US $20. The black cover can swap straight across, the dimensions and mounting is identical . The mustang switch has larger wire recesses to take a standard termination nipple bud so the wire ends need to be re-terminated.

Well worth considering if you have this issue.
