Check out the Pantera vendors also. PanterasbyWilkinson has them listed at their site. You reuse your existing tumblers so you retain the use of one key for the door and trunk.

I think Peter is referring to the internal door latch mechanism, but equally check out the vendors as the mechanism and small parts are available and it provides a price point comparison to used parts on eBay.

Joules is correct and at $344 the cost is just too much.

I wonder what it would have cost 4 or 5 years ago before prices of our cars began top rise so.

My last purchase of $195 from there USA cost me £54 in UK import tax/Duty

so its hard to just get this or that sometimes.

am having some computer trouble and am taking it for repair tomorrow!

I'd recommend the cnc ALU replacements the vendors offer as they're much stronger than the plastic ones.

I posted pictures of mine installed in another thread if you want to see that they look identical (except I blacked mine out).

In all honesty I don't think the vendors prices have increased in line with the value of our cars. The used parts market has increased considerably to the point I see used parts go for more than new on eBay. I guess many people don't do their due diligence or in some cases don't want reproduction parts.

You can always ship to me and I'll send it USPS to the UK to avoid duties. I would have thought though they would be exempt due to the age of vehicle?

Larry Stock (Pantera Parts Connection) has the door mechanisms listed for $295. I can pick up for you and ship, but sold in state will incur a 7.5% sales tax.

Sorry I misunderstood. You could try checking out a Fiat X1/9 it's pretty close. There may be another 70's Fiat or Alfa Romeo latch that work better with minimal or no mod.

I have a pair of X1/9 latches somewhere in the garage. I think some cutting/welding/drilling&tapping needs to be done to make them fit. I can dig them out for comparison if someone wants.

Anders I am pretty sure the Fiat 128 locks are quite similar to Pantera. They cost only 14€ on ebay.it so might be worth just to buy one an check.

Does anybody have a picture of a Pantera latch assembly off the car? Here's a couple of pics I got from eBay a while ago but I forget what year it's for.

Based on the picture I have, it looks like it's very similar to an Autobianchi A111 front door latch. This pic is from eBay.it ad. I wish the ad had more than one pic though.

OK, here's some pictures. Pantera latch with the white plastic part:






You can probably interchange some of the parts in the assy, but not a direct match. I think 1 of the 3 holes to fasten it match the holes in door.

Intresting thing is that in the Pantera latch, lever that goes to outer door handle seems to be modified. So modified, but from what?

So I have them both available. So if you need more pictures, just let me know.

but I had a new arm made from 4mm Silver steel,

and it works a treat.
